COMPANY STORY

In 2005, the company’s founders formed Lutros to address the need they saw for process technologies that could utilize low-cost and renewable raw materials for fuel.

The company's first projects focused on producing consistently on-spec biodiesel from the abundant raw chicken fat at the region's chicken processing plants. This work generated numerous technical solutions, including Lutros's patented transesterification system, which offered a reliable and cost-effective means for producing biodiesel–not just from raw chicken fat but from other challenging feedstocks as well.

Because leadership and engineering were also directly involved in testing and production, Lutros built an approach to innovation that merges technical expertise with production experience, market awareness, and continual testing. Lutros quickly became an advisor and technology provider to other biodiesel producers and installed its transesterification system in multiple production facilities in the United States.

Since then, Lutros has grown its technical portfolio, its production experience and its market connections to the benefit of fats and oils processors across various industries. It logged thousands of hours of testing and hundreds of production runs to develop precision technology for processing fats and oils into high-quality lipids suitable for meeting rigorous specifications in multiple uses, including renewable fuels.

Lutros continues to focus on generating premium-spec oil for renewable fuel, including renewable aviation fuel and renewable biodiesel.
